The Flux is a 5'6" upcycled hybrid surfboard, shaped from PU foam and finished with epoxy resin for a light, strong build. It has a wide squash tail, full rails, and a pulled-in nose. The bottom contour runs single to double concave with vee off the tail — designed for lift, speed, and clean transitions.
With a flat rocker and forward volume, it’s built for easy paddling and down-the-line speed in smaller, softer surf. The outline blends fish-like width with a performance-inspired nose for added control.
Set up with a 5-fin configuration, it works as a quad or thruster depending on the conditions.

Flux 5'6" – PU Foam / Epoxy | 5-Fin Hybrid (USED)

The Flux 5'6" is a new, upcycled surfboard — hand-shaped from a reclaimed PU foam core and rebuilt with a clean epoxy layup. While the foam came from an older delaminated board, everything else was redesigned and reworked from scratch. Built entirely using The Shapers Rack, This project served as a full test of the rack’s function — from stripping foam to sanding and final glass prep — and reflects a hands-on, no-frills shaping process.
The board features a flat rocker, making it well suited for speed generation in softer, smaller surf. Volume is pushed forward for easier paddling and early entry. The outline combines the width and float of a groveler with a pulled-in nose and wide squash tail, aiming for a balance between speed, control, and approachability in average conditions.
The bottom contour flows from single concave under the chest into double concave through the fins, finishing with vee off the tail to support clean transitions and rail release. Built with a 5-fin configuration, the board is versatile enough to be ridden as a thruster or a quad depending on wave shape and rider preference.
This board isn’t a mass-market model. It was shaped entirely by hand as a working experiment — and while it’s not tuned for high-performance surfing, it’s a functional piece that reflects real-time testing of both foam and process.
